I have always been interested in why it is that the big office supply store in town cannot offer the same low prices as their competitors online. I would think that if you have that many stores all across the country that you should be able to get bulk prices on office supplies and pass on the savings of them to your customers. I know that the office supplies sites that I have used in the past may not have as much overhead since they do not have actual storefronts but they have to store their stock in warehouses and that costs money.

The big chain office supply store also spends a lot of money on advertising and the sites do not. I know that advertising online is expensive sometimes but just being smart and handling a lot of search engine marketing yourself can help to put you at the top. The office supplies stores need to look into cashing in on the internet and lowering their prices according to their competition.

I have decided to order from an online office supplies site for things that I can buy ahead of time, like ink and paper but if I run out of something that I need right away, which usually happens with staples and folders then I will use the local big box office supply place in town.
