The used bladecenter server that my boss decided to put in our office about four months ago had broken down again. I do not understand why he would buy a server used when it is such a vital part of this business. I think that he bought it from his sister because she closed down her store and wanted to sell all of the computer equipment that she had.

Now, the last two that we had, were iseries servers that were brand new out of the box and they only lasted about seven years apiece because of the demand that we put on them. The iseries servers were a lot more expensive too and since he is always looking to save a buck or two, he thought that the used bladecenter would be a way to do that.

I had a meeting with the rest of the office and we found a refurbished used bladecenter that was priced really low and had a guarantee. We presented it to him and let him know that we could not work in an office where the server is unreliable. He agreed to buy the server we had shown him because it was a great price also.

We are now back up and running without any incidents of servers going down for six months. Everyone in the office is happy to not have to be thinking about when the server will go down next.
